Buyan V. Myth-making as a part of the political culture of the Ukrainian transformation society

The author of the dissertation made theoretical and historical reconstruction of the political and methodological foundations, values orientations and cultural contexts of myth interpretation as polysemantic category, reproducing trans-historical and irrational phenomenon of human existence. It is proved that the political myth in the transformation society acts as a principle of organization of mass consciousness. In this context the myth does not explain the reality, but replaces it by deforming. It was studied the specific content of the process of myth-making in contemporary Ukraine, where the formation of mythologems in social and political life allows to show the function of myth in social transformations, archetypal elements of the mass consciousness in the process of myth-making, and their manifestations in different spheres of activity. It is revealed that political myth is an essential element of political culture and is completely determined by this culture.
