The paper deals with the analysis of English chrematonyms in paradigm of cognitive linguistics. The aim - to estab- lish the cognitive nature of chrematonyms and the peculiarities of their organization in the native speaker's mental lexicon. Methods used are descriptive, interpretational, method of semantic gestalt of the associative field. The novelty of the research lies in the investigation of the chrematonyms viewed from the cognitive onomastics. Can be used in teaching appropriate courses in linguistics, cognitive onomastics and literature.
