Essay

The subgroups, which in a sense are the antipodes of generalized normal subgroups, have great influence on the structure of the group. Particular attention in this thesis is given to abnormal and pronormal subgroups as well as some of their natural generalizations. It has been revealed in which groups the classes of nearly pronormal (nearly abnormal) subgroups and pronormal (abnormal) subgroups coincide. In this thesis we investigated the influence of self conjugate-permutable subgroups on the structure of certain classes of infinite groups. Namely, we obtained a description of locally finite groups in which every cyclic subgroup is self conjugate-permutable, non-periodic locally generalized radical groups in which every cyclic subgroup is self conjugate-permutable, and periodic and non-periodic locally graded groups, in which every subgroup is self conjugate-permutable.
