Thesis deals with the modern theoretical concepts of strategic management of industrial enterprises, scientific ap-proaches to determining the nature of its effectiveness and methodological aspects of evaluation. The paper presents a strategy as the systematic iteration of decisions and actions, aimed at strengthening the internal capacity and the forma-tion of the environment that will create competitive advantage. The typology of modern approaches to the nature of the effectiveness of strategic management is offered. Efficiency is considered as the result of positioning the company in the coordinate system of profit and sales. The effectiveness of functional strategies proposed measure using trigonomet-ric function. The analysis identified the companies that are leaders in strategic management and provide long-term competitive advantage. The work proved organizational and methodological mechanisms to improve the strategic man-agement of enterprises on the basis of the institutionalization of strategic management, structural reorganization of en-terprises based on controlling the implementation of strategic business management model.
