Rozumenko A. Surgical treatment of inracerebral tumors of brain hemispheres with using of neuronavigation.

The dissertation is focused on the problem of improving the surgical treatment of intracerebral tumors of brain hemispheres using neuronavigation. The research work is based on the results of surgical treatment of 324 patients with primary and metastatic supratentorial brain tumors. The neuronavigation system allows fusion of multimodal neuroimaging data (CT, MRI, fMRI, MR-tractography, MR-venography, SPECT) for preoperative planning and intra-operative surgical guidance. Application of neuronavigation in surgery of intra-cerebral tumors contributes to achieve radical resection, to prevent damage of eloquent structures, provides a lower risk of postoperative neurological deficits and improves patients' quality of life. The results of this research work have found practical application in neurosurgical practice.
