The dissertation is devoted to current theoretical and practical problems of the prison administration of Ukraine. The nature and characteristics of the penitentiary system of Ukraine as a control object are defined. An author's definitions of "the prison administration," "corrections," "organization and management of state penal system," "staffing of the prison system," "logistics agencies and penal institutions" is cited. The international experience of the prison administration and the possibility of its use in Ukraine is researched.
