Essay

The research examines city text on the material of the Kyiv one as a system of multiple semiotical transformations. The groups of local signs, images, author's and well known mythes are interpreted. The dominants of cross artistic (neoclassic) and imagological estimation of a place (romantic) are discerned. According to the results of the work, the sense of a verse (phonosemantics, rhymes in archaic topics) causes these processes. As a novelty, the interest of Kyiv authors in natural iconics is emphasized (wide spread descriptions of parks, hills, Dnipro).
