The thesis is devoted to investigation of intertextual properties of the cyclic symphony in the composers creative of the XX - early XXI century, the justification of interstyle principles as a prerequisite for the development of a cyclic symphony. Characterized by the current musicological approaches to the stylistic content of the symphonic music of the twentieth and twenty-first century. Highlights the way to becoming a genre of the symphony in the works of G. Mahler, D. Shostakovich, and B. Liatoshynsky as representatives of a landmark historical time of music.
