Afanasіeva A. Clinical and psychopathological characteristics of patients with paranoid schizophrenia who use psychoactive substances (in forensic psychiatric practice)

As a result of complex anamnestic, clinical and psychopathological study, as well as the analysis of forensic expert decisions, features of the clinical picture of paranoid schizophrenia, combined with substance use, were described. The criteria for differential diagnosis of these pathologies were defined. On the basis of certain criteria, the table of markers of presence/absence of substance use, combined with paranoid schizophrenia, was developed. The procedure of using it also was developed (based on Wald's sequential procedure modified by EV Gubler). This procedure significantly increases the efficiency (by 27.3% at p <0,001) of the differentiation of paranoid schizophrenia and paranoid schizophrenia, combined with substance use, compared to routine methods.
