Essay

Classification has been made for loads and stresses onto blast-furnace shell allowing structural SSS to be investigated for blast-furnace shells in compliance with state-of-the-art standards prevailing in Ukraine. Problem of 2700m3 BF dome shell strength was studied for the case when there is no top headframe being one of the most essential bearing structures for the above. Specific practical recommendations have been formulated to improve industrial safety of blast-furnace shell dome. A system of criteria has been worked out for evaluation of blast-furnace shell SSS allowing evaluation of structural condition during operation to be ascertained and compared with experimental data and required control decisions to be taken for adjustment of technological process parameters. "Automatic BF shell SSS Diagnostic System" was developed and implemented. On the basis of "Automatic Diagnostic System", SSS data of the most stresses areas of 5000м3 blast-furnace shell during long operation period.
