The aim of the thesis is the study of theoretical and methodological principles and the development of scientific and practical recommendations for building statistical monitoring of socio-economic development of Ukraine. The object of study is the processes and phenomena that determine the status and trends of socio-economic development of Ukraine. The subject of the study is theoretical and methodological foundations of statistical monitoring processes and phenomena related to socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine. Methods: logical, generalization, statistical (observation group, the absolute and relative values, expert method, the analysis of relationships, multivariate analysis), graphics. Scientific novelty of the results is to improve the theoretical and methodological principles of building statistical monitoring of socio-economic development of Ukraine. First: - developed and implemented a methodical approach to optimize the system performance for integrated assessment of socio-economic development, the foundation of which is the use of pairwise correlation coefficients to statistically homogeneous groups of indicators. Implementation of this approach can be used for these estimates fewer parameters without losing reliability of the results - the advantages of cluster analysis for integrated assessment of socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine versus multidimensional medium is commonly used for such assessments, and other methodological approaches. Cluster analysis, in particular, enhances the objectivity of assessments, taking into account differences in the levels of performance of individual regions, while the average rank for multidimensional reduce these differences. Improved: - theoretical basis of the system performance evaluation of the regions with the inertia inherent in the socio-economic processes - composition metrics integrated assessment of socio-economic development of Ukraine. It only took a further development: - methodological approaches to the formation of the knowledge base integrated assessment of socio-economic development through the study of proposals for resolving the problems in the process of organizing and monitoring - scientific and practical recommendations to summarize results of the evaluation of socio-economic development of Ukraine on the basis of methods multivariate analysis. The results are put into practice activities: State Statistics Service of Ukraine (№ 17/1-20/17, 23.01.2012), the Central Statistical Office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (№ 10.1-11 / 9, 01/27/2012), and the learning process National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Auditing (№ 83, 06.02.2012).
