The thesis aims to perfect methods of diagnostics and prediction of complications of acute odontogenic inflammatory processes of the soft tissues of the maxillofacial area, in particular, computer prognostication of their course, to decrease the number of complications and terms of treatment by generalization of the clinical and laboratory indices of these processes using Harrington's desirability function. The work is divided into two stages of research, viz. retrospective analysis of clinical cases and prospective analysis and treatment of patients using Prognosis computer program and Harrington's desirability function. Advisability of independent integral indices of the course of phlegmons is grounded. Practical recommendations concerning the program are developed.
