Essay

The expression for the chemical potential of non-uniform solution components was found by the expansion of the chemical potential into Taylor's series. This result was used for the study of adsorption and evaporation processes of this solution. The value of the shift of the liquid-gas phase equilibrium point of the binary solution at the vicinity of its demixing point was found as a result. Also the factors that influence on the adsorption were studied such as inhomogeneity of adsorbate solution, surface inhomogeneity of adsorbent and the presence of two-dimensional phase transition on the adsorbing surface.
