This thesis focuses on the study of structural and semantic parameters of the English didactic lexicon, its combinability with non-terminological lexemes in special texts and influence of the didactic terms' semantic structure on it. As a result of research the definition and descriptions of the English didactic lexicon are represented in the paper. While analyzing the English didactic terminology and the general lexicon of education special and general senses in the set of didactic senses are defined. So far as it is difficult to mark a boundary between the didactic terminology and the general lexicon of education, it is important to define a factor that influences differentiation of the didactic terms and the general lexicon of education. It is maintained that differentiation between the central invariant meaning and peripheral senses of the didactic terms depends on the context in which the didactic term functions. The central invariant defines only a narrow terminological meaning with a special sense. It is realized in language, while it obtains a new peripheral sense in speech. The didactic term loses its narrow terminological meaning and obtains new peripheral senses. Such lexeme cannot be mentioned as element of the didactic terminology, but preserves its relation to education. The analysis of didactic lexicon within the framework of their compatibility plays an important diagnostic role in the interpretation of the term and indicates the relationship between the semantic structure of didactic terms and their combinative capabilities, which reduces the possibility of the term to combine with non-terminological lexical unit in the text. The chosen classification of special texts (academic and educational texts) caused a thorough study of mechanisms of terminologization (terminologization of general lexic, determinologization, transterminologization) on a functional level. Correlation availability of terminology and non-terminological vocabulary in academic text: 65% (special vocabulary) - 35% (non-terminological language) and academic text 45% (special vocabulary) - 55% (non-terminological vocabulary). Research results reveal prospects for further study of foreign language didactic lexicon from the standpoint of semantic, conceptual and functional approaches. The proposed analysis has allowed studying the concept of the English term system, to trace the influence of the semantic structure of a term on its potential as well as lexical valency of the English terms which is one of the ways to analyze the English terms' semantic structure.
