Danylchuk O. Problems and poetics of Arthur Hailey's novels in the 1960-1980s.

A. Hailey's novels are considered the object of the research. The analysis of Arthur Hailey's literary heritage in the context mass culture and literature is the objective of the research. Historical-cultural, historical-literary and complex methods have been used. The thesis is the first attempt of the complex analysis of Arthur Hailey's oeuvre in Ukrainian literary criticism with the emphasis on artistic and ideological models which illustrate the development of genres of the professional, documental, detective, career novel and novel-catastrophe. This analysis of Arthur Hailey's literary heritage from the point of view of its characteristics as mass culture and literature forms a complete understanding of the author's poetical concept, reveals and describes his poetical constants and artistic models. The school teaching is the main sphere of application.
