Piletsky Y. Christian Orthodox asceticism as a psychological phenomenon: its aspects in the religious sciences.

Thesis provides the religious and psychological analysis of the phenomenon of Orthodox asceticism as a psychological phenomenon. The principal spiritual practices of Orthodox asceticism, the psychological content of religious and axiological transformations of the consciousness of an adept of Orthodox asceticism and the religious-psychological model of understanding and application of spiritual practices of Orthodox asceticism are introduced. Orthodox asceticism, its philosophical, religious and psychological contents are considered as integral part of modern society and its culture in Ukraine, as factors of the "renaissance" of Ukraine's national culture and rational foundation of social life.
