Essay

The subject of research was synthesis of polyurethane-epoxy composite materials for medical application with prolonged release of antituberculous medical substances. The aim of the work was creation of new polyurethane-epoxy composite materials by modification with inorganic fillers (aerosil and silica gel) and medical substances (isoniazid and streptomycin) and investigation of the influence of inorganic fillers on properties of polyurethane-epoxy composite materials. Key data were obtained on the basis of the following research methods: NMR-spectroscopy, IR-spectroscopy, thermogravometric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry. The chemical immobilization of isoniazid at polyurethane-epoxy matrix was occurred. It was established, that streptomycin was immobilized at polymer matrix due to the formation of intermolecular hydrogen bonds. It was found, that release of antituberculous medical substances depended on means of immobilized substances on a polymer matrix and may be controlled by the modification polyurethane-epoxy polymer matrix with inorganic filler. It was shown that epoxy-polyurethane composite materials were biocompatible, resistant to biodegradationand may be wide used for treatment of bone tissue tuberculosis.
