Essay

The research is based on results of examination and treatment of 101 patients with hypervascularized tumors (HVT) of intra-, extracranial localization and neck (IEN). The structure of tumors: hemangiomas - 53 (52.5%) observations, juvenile angiofibromas - 27 (26.7%), meningiomas - 16 (15.8%), paragangliomas - 2 (2%), hemangioblastomas - 2 (2%), gemangiopertsitoma - 1 (1%).Angiography was conducted in all patients. Bilateral blood supply of tumors was found in 19 (18.9%) cases, monolateral - in 82 (81.1%).After embolization microsurgical removal of the hypervascularized tumor was performed in 74 (73.3%) patients. In 2 (2%) of them tumor recurrence has occurred subsequently. The research on blood loss during tumor removing after embolization was performed in 25 (24.7%) patients. During all operations on nonmalignant vascular lesions and malignant tumors with a expressed vascular component after preoperative embolization the blood loss was significantly lower - from 90 to 1900 ml (cf. (478.72±39) ml), which was comparable to blood loss during operations in the paranasal sinuses at inflammation processes
