Essay

In the work the comprehensive analysis of Rachmaninov's late musical style is carried out as a holistic musical, cultural and aesthetic, philosophical and mithopoetic phe-nomenon. The main attention is paid to the symbolism which is treated as the system of meaningful musical text references to the complex of values related to music, rooted in genre, style and intertextual text quality. Some significant trends of mod-ern science on Rachmaninov are summarized and systematized.
