Yatsenko P. Cognitive and Communicative Organization of Coordinate-Subordinate Polynome in the Modern German Language

This thesis offers a cognitive and communicative study of the coordinate-subordinate polynome in modern German. Its place in the system of syntactical units has been determined and a methodology for its analysis is developed. Formal grammatical models of the coordinate-subordinate polynome have been described along with an inventory of the constituent conjunction means. The research clarifies cognitive semantic organization of the polynome under study and carries out its cognitive modelling. Communicational principles of the use of the polynomes in speech have been characterized and mechanisms of their modification (simplification and complication) have been outlined. The thesis specifies the usage of coordinate-subordinate polynomes in various discursive patterns.
