The thesis is devoted to the analysis of theoretical and practical issues of formation, development and improvement of notarial activities in Ukraine. Historical periodization of establishment and formation of notary's institute is made, it's meaning in the science and practice is summarized. Based on complex research the notion, tasks, features and legal regulation of notarial activities in Ukraine are determined. The essence and structure of administrative and legal status of notaries are investigated. The purpose, functions and principles of notaries are characterized. Special attention is paid to the investigation of competence of notaries on notarial acts.
