Comprehensive cognitive onomasiological analysis of motivating nomenclatorial fish names in Modern German. The aim is to prove that the formation of fish names is based on the corresponding fragments of knowledge. Methods used are field modeling, cognitive-onomasiological, semantic analysis. First established the status of fish nomens in the ichthyoterminolofy in German. Sphere of application - German grammar, stylistics, lexicology, also - the field of lexicography.
