The thesis deals with forming and functioning of the socially production system of employment of population as pre-conditions of socio-economic development of rural territories. The theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding of category of "employment" were investigated, the category of "social-production system of employment" and its constituents were grounded, the conceptual bases of the process of forming of the system of employment and the methodical approaches to its research were studied. Structurally-dynamic description of the level of development of the social-production system of employment of rural population is resulted and influence of demographic factors on its forming is analysed. The econometrical model of factor changes in the processes of management employment is developed. Normative, economic, organizational and social measures of perfection of mechanism of state administration of employment were grounded. Directions of diversification of rural economy as an instrument of improvement of the system of rural employment are developed. Conceptual principles of forming of strategy of employment of rural population are offered.
