Onchulenko M. Verbs with the Semantic Component „Appeal” in the English Political Discourse

The dissertation focuses on the integral investigation of the functional semantics of the verbs with the semantic component "appeal" in contemporary English political discourse. The status of the verbs with the semantic component "appeal" in the system of the English language is defined. Semantic, communicative, discourse features of these verbs are revealed. The lexico-semantic field of the verbs with the semantic component "appeal" is modeled in the system of the English language; syntactic and semantic valency of the verbs under analysis in political discourse is defined; variantological, genre, and idiolect features of the verbs with the semantic component "appeal" functioning in political discourse are outlined.
