Essay

Work is dedicated to studying of basic signs of folklore transformation in the Ukrainian modern orchestral music by individual L. Kolodub’s composer thought example. The analysis of chamber and orchestral composer’s works from position of folklore interaction with author composer thought is introduced in researching. It is symphonical suite “Hutsul’s pictures”, “Оrchestral piece”, “Triple musics”, cycles “Turivski songs” and “Seven ukranian national songs”, cycle of five suites – “Ukrainian dances”. Also typical stylistic signs author methods of folklore reinterpretation in composer symphony are showed. There are Symphonies № 1, № 2 “Shevchenko characters”, № 3 “In style of Ukrainian baroque”, № 5 “Pro memoria”, № 8 “Prylutska” and № 10 “After the sketches of young arts”. The basic principles of folklore transformation in L. Kolodub orchestral creation are discovered. National melos has been using not only in the quality of its processing or quoting in the way of expressing means adornment of orchestral writing but artistic-characteristical transformation accompanies the recreation of internal semantic signs of national music thanks to traditional and modern signs using by facilities of composer technique.
