The thesis is devoted to the complex analysis of current theoretical and practical problems of providing relieves and payments on mandatory state social insurance connected with temporary disability. It was defined the essence, peculiarities and importance of mandatory state social insurance connected with temporary disability; studied the history of formation and development of this type of insurance. There were proposed some amendments to the current legislation, aimed to reform and improve the system of social insurance connected with temporary disability.
