The dissertation work investigates forming and functioning problems of the grain crops seeds production. Theoretical and methodological bases of grain crops seeds produc-tion are considered, the role of this sector in the national grain crops production is identi-fied. Methodological bases of the economic efficiency calculation for the grain crops seeds production are elucidated. The contemporary state and trends of the grain crops seeds production in Ukraine and the investigated region are analyzed. The economic efficiency of the grain crops seeds production is calculated and the correlation between grain crops seeds production and grain crops production is identified. The work also gives grounds for grain crops seeds production development and efficiency improvement, as well as for marketing improve-ment in the grain crops seeds production sector. Proposals concerning forecasting of sow-ing material need and concerning the improvement of the regional grain crops seeds pro-duction system are developed. The necessity to create a union of seeds producers is grounded. The union key tasks and financial sources are determined.
