Essay

It is carried out a new relativistic gauge-invariant approach to the theory of radiative transitions (generalized quantum defect (CD) approximation and ab initio method of model potential (MP)) for Rydberg atoms (RA) and multicharged ions and a new relativistic many-body perturbation theory with optimized ab initio "0" MP (QD) approximation. There are calculated the energies, oscillator strengths of transitions in spectra of Li-(Z=13-70), Na-, Ве-(Z=26-36) like ions in a free state and plasma Ne=10^22-10^24cm^-3,T=0.5-2 keV, and also energy parameters, radiation amplitudes for RA Na, K, Rb, Cs, their ionization rates of states with n = 10-100 in the field of blackbody radiation (BBR).
