Essay

The dissertation covers the studies of metal ionization processes in the presence of organic ligands and the development of protection methods against steel corrosion. It was discovered that the decrease in the rate of corrosion in the presence of organic ligands is due to the formation of slightly soluble metalorganic complexes on the metal surface. The quantitative correlation between the growth rate of metalorganic layers, their protective properties, the exposure time and concentration of the inhibitor has been obtained for the first time. The thickness of the phase film and its protective properties growth overtime confer to the parabolic law and obey to the laws of diffusion kinetics. It is proposed the optimal parameters, range and the boundary conditions for the multicriterial search optimization of novel high-performing and environmental friendly corrosion inhibitors. Based on the proposed approach, numerous highly effective and eco friendly inhibitors of steel corrosion were developed. Their application solves the problem of rational utilization of substandard pharmaceutical drugs and their byproducts.
