Essay

The dissertation was dedicated the development of high-power supercapacitors based on “porous carbon electrode / organic electrolyte” electrochemical system. Optimization of this system enabled to create a supercapacitor prototype with the specific power of 2.7 kW/kg, which is more than 1.3–2.8 times in comparison with competing devices. Optimal thickness of electrode active part was defined that made it possible to reduce the inner resistance. Qualitative composition of the film, which is formed on aluminum current collector under anodic polarization and causes the increase of its contact resistance, was determined. Conductive polymer coating based on carbon black and polyvinylidene difluoride with optimized composition for protection of aluminum from corrosion and for decrease in its contact resistance value was supposed. The contribution of charge redistribution effect in supercapacitor self-discharge was quantified and the ways of its leveling was proposed.
