Object of research: the processes of evaluation and forming of the industrial enterprises' (IE) financial security (FS) strategies; the purpose of the work: to improve the development of the theoretical and methodological support for the forming of the IE' FS strategy, namely heavy mechanical engineering industry; research methods and instruments: methods: structural logical and monographic analysis, economic and statistical analysis, expert analysis and analysis of the hierarchy, multivariate statistical, correlation and regression analysis, the theory of fuzzy sets, methodological apparatus of theory of probability and Markov processes; theoretical and practical results: methodological support to the forming of the IE' FS strategies, based on determining of the changes in FS level over time and using of strategic decision-making matrix; the system of the partial indicators to measure the external and internal FS of the IE by areas, which differs from the existing by the composition of quantitative and qualitative indicators, for the internal FS in the list of quantitative indicators additionally included the indicators of innovation activity, in the list of qualitative indicators – the indicators of enterprises' financial capacity, for the external FS proposed to use the quantitative indicators of innovation and investment processes at the macro level and the quality indicators of the favorability of the external financial environment; the procedure of forming of the integral indicators of the external and internal FS of the IE by the areas, that includes such stages as: selection of the relevant partial indicators of the FS of the IE, determining of their significance, the calculation of integral indicators for each area of the FS; the methodical approach for the evaluating the level of the internal and external FS of the IE, which consists in: the accounting of impact of the unstable external and internal financial environment factors by the areas of FS, justification and construction of the scale of the FS levels and ranges determining, development of the recommendations for FS improvement; definition of IE' FS, the difference of which is the interpretation of the security in the dynamic aspect, as an activity, and in the static - as the financial condition, characterized by quality of using of the enterprises' financial instruments and the ability of the enterprises to ensure its sustainable development, standing up to the negative impact of destabilizing factors; subject and extent of introduction: developments are implemented in practical work of LLC «SIC traction rolling stock», LLC «RPE «Turboenergoservis», SE KMP «FED»; sphere of the use: the process of forming the IE' FS strategy in the heavy mechanical engineering industry
