Essay

The dissertation is based on the analysis of land law legal doctrine and land legislation, as well as the comparison of legislation of Ukraine in force with foreign legislations. The author shows that the requirements of modern land law of Ukraine concerning the use of coastal protection strips are outdated and are not adequate to the contemporary needs of the society. The dissertation highlights the purpose and tasks of the coastal protection strips. Their basic characteristics are identified. The author also suggests the doctrinal definition of coastal protection strips. The legal titles which allow the use of coastal protective strips are studied, with the special emphasis on the procedure for titles transfer and the scope of rights and duties attached to certain titles.
