Essay

Thesis highlights new insights into immunological aspects that have been arising when chronic catarrhal rhinitis (CCR) was modeled in rats: immunological shift that accompany chronic inflammatory diseases of mucous membranes of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses in humans was detected, the role of immunosuppression in experimental rhinitis was defined, various immunological parameters were assessed in designed and invented rat model of CCR. Experiments were conducted on 370 rats. In patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the nose (114 ?mmunogram) the signs of immunological deficiency were detected, thus an immunosuppression during an experimental simulation of CCR was suggested to be appropriate to model. The inflammatory response as an endogenic flogogen - initiator of inflammation was defined and the algorithm for the onset and prolongation of the inflammation within the lining of the nasal shell of the rats was developed. It was shown that changes of immunological parameters in experimental rhinitis could be extended to the clinics and compared to those observed in patients. The suitability and application of rat CCR model for preclinical testing of pharmacology drugs was experimentally proven.
