Essay

Peculiarities of scattering of medium energy electrons by uniaxial ferromagnetic films with easy axis perpendicular to the surface, containing a stripe domain structure have been studied by numerical simulation accounting the finite width of the domain walls. Numerical simulation has revealed that the stray fields of ferromagnetic films containing regular a stripe domain structure should cause several anisotropic effects during their irradiation by electron beams at grazing angles: the surface channeling, entrance blocking (scattering without impact with the film surface), as well as single and double impacts of the particles with the film surface. The influence of the beam primary energy, grazing angle and film parameters on the manifestation of anisotropic effects has been evaluated numerically. Initial azimuthal angle ranges, where each of the described scattering modes takes place have been determined as well as the region of polar escape angle, which is significantly anisotropic. Also the anisotropy of angular portrait of electrons moving near the film has been defined accounting the finite width of the domain walls.
