Essay

This thesis is devoted to study of the internet diaries, which are considered as a type of personal discourse in the German speaking media domain. The language and non-language innovations in the German speaking media space were examined and their main types (lexical, correlative, creolized) were determined. The regulative potential of the language used by German speaking teens and post-teens is ascertained. The socio-lingual and lingua-cultural features of the bloggers' communicative activities, embodied in the communication strategy and tactics, are determined. The linguistic means of visual and verbal representations of the main youth cultural concepts in the German speaking media domain are analyzed.
