Essay

The work gives theoretical background and practical proofs to possibility of producing fibre cement articles with the necessary physical and mechanical properties at elevated content of alkali oxides in the cement matrix; their quantity is increasing in Portland cement clinker due to use alternative fuels. Special Portland-composite cement with a high content of alkali oxides obtained by a systematic approach to the selection of particle size and material composition for production fibre cement articles was developed. The main results of the work had industrial implementation in the production of fibre cement roofing sheets with improved physical and mechanical parameters.
