Kovalyova G. Comparative characteristics of the efficiency of bacterioscopic researches of biological material for the purpose of diagnosis and quality control of treatment of tuberculosis

Object of research: morpho-functional structure and biological characteristics of mycobacteria, microscopic methods and culture of mycobacteria. Aim: to develop new approaches and methods to improve microscopy and bacteriological testing of biological material for diagnostic and quality control of TB treatment. Methods: information-analytical, biophysical, bacterioscopic, bacteriological, biochemical, mathematical. Shows a theoretical synthesis and scientific solution of the actual problem of improving smear diagnosis of TB based on a comprehensive study of methods for diagnosis of tuberculosis. Investigated tinctorial, morphological, cultural properties and identified of mycobacteria rational alternative and additional staining methods to detect acid-fast bacills. Proved the necessity of simultaneous staining for acid-fast bacteria and determine their viability. Provides a method for pre-processing of biological material for culture isolation of mycobacteria using a quaternary ammonium derivative. Defined frequency, structure and profile of drug resistance isolated mycobacteria. Scope: implemented into the work of TB services and general health care network. Application: medicine
