The dissertation suggests a new comprehensive poetic and cognitive approach to the analysis of textual concepts in Walt Whitman’s poetry book “Leaves of Grass”.The paper has developed the model of the analysis of Walt Whitman’s textual concepts which is based on the study of key lexical elements as members of the lexical-semanic fields, lexical-semantic groups in micro- and macro-contexts and which brings to light the peculiarities of the cosmic scope of Walt Whitman’s poetic picture of the world.
