Essay

Determined the species composition of settlements of Carassius (Cyprinidae) reservoirs in Eastern Ukraine. Established dominance in the region С. auratus herewith C. carassius is an endangered species. Use in the Seversky Donets River shows a step change in the composition of settlements of carp in the XX - early XXI th century associated with the reduction of aboriginal C. carassius and the separation of the invasive С. auratus. Found that the primary cause of extinctiation of the C. carassius is regulation of rivers. Definded the main tendencies of the geographical distribution of settlements carp in Ukraine.
