Kashuba O. Golovlit UkrSSR Documents as a historical source (1944 - 1991)

The dissertation offers complex studies on the sources-informational potential of business documentation of the Chief administration of literature and publishing under the UkrSSR Council of Ministers (Golovlit UkrSSR). Having involved a wide range of archive materials, the research covers the issue of the chief UkrSSR censorship service in the second half of XX century; there were also studied structural and organizational changes within the same period. Due to the conducted reference analysis of Golovlit UkrSSR documents, the sources have been detected, the major stages have been grounded, forms and directions of censorship implementation in printing have been deduced. The UkrSSR special funds foundation and activity have been examined; peculiarities of foreign literature delivery control have been clued, forms and methods of Golovlit UkrSSR censors' training have been highlighted. The storage integrity of Golovlit UkrSSR business materials has been defined, systemized by some indicators and criteria, the peculiarities of each documentation type have been analyzed.
