The thesis is the first-time attempt in the Ukrainian literary study to explore the peculiarities of Osyp Makovey's poetry evolution on the basis of its singled-out elements (generics, marked vocabulary, tropes, poetic syntax, phonics, versification) in the diachronic aspect. The obtained results allow to thoroughly explore O. Makovey's creativity in the Ukrainian literary context of the turn of the twentieth century, and broaden our knowledge as to poetical peculiarities of the Ukrainian poetry of the period under survey.
