Essay

During the process of research the practical characteristics of byzantine liturgical chant have been systemized. These features are not to be found in neumatic texts, especially if we speak of random alterations of mode(ichos) tones as well as the principles of melismatic melody decoration which represents byzantine church service in the most colourfull way and contains it's own informational potential.
