Essay

The research is devoted to the consideration of the range of questions, which are relevant to the development of modern Mendelssohn studies in Ukraine. The most important among them are related to the personality and oeuvre of F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, whose personality and artistic heritage still represent a major problem for the scientific study. The analysis of the piano-concert heritage of the composer in the difference of implementation of the concept Gesamtkunstwerk allowed to come to a conclusion on the fact that the work of the "German Mozart" was advancing theoretical and practical implementation of "fused work of art" compared to his "creator" R. Wagner.
