Essay

Object: acquired myopia. The aim: to increase diagnostic efficiance of acquired myopia at children based on morphometric OCT parameters of retina and optic nerve and visual function condition. The methods: the conventional ophthalmic, the functional methods, optical coherence tomography and statistical methods; optical coherence tomography, phosphen, perymetry. Knowledge of the morphometric characteristics of the retina and the optic disc nerve in children with emmetropia and myopia varying degrees were complited. For the first time in varying degrees of myopia establiched that the changes of morphometric parameters of the central area of the retina and peripapillary area are accompanied by functional changes. The mean morphometric data of perypapillary nerve fiber layer in children with acquired myopia were complited. The average thickness of perypapillary nerve fiber layer is much smaller in children with myopia in comparison with children with emmetropy. It was proposed a method for diagnosing myopia progression. The data of perypapillary nerve fiber layer thickness and optic disc parameters in children of primary school age and older school age were complited. The results of research are implemented in Pirogov Vinnitsa Regional Hospital, Vinnitsa Regional Children's Hospital, State Institution "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine". Sphere of application is medicine, ophthalmology.
