The thesis focuses on the complex analysis of linguistic means of expressing biblical allusions at phono-graphic, morphological, lexical, syntactical and the whole text levels. The definition of biblical allusion, which takes into consideration multi-faceted character of this category, is given. Its invariant and divergent elements are determined. In the texts of Shakespeare, Sidney and Kyd biblical allusion “all in one” is discovered.
