Essay

The purpose of the thesis is to explore the specific character of the individual performance style through the prism of the "hermeneutic performance discourse" category as well as the analysis of individual performance styles in the interpretation of Sergei Prokofiev's piano sonatas. On the basis of the performance style investigation from the standpoint of musical hermeneutics, the specific character of the piano interpretation of creative conception implementation of the one of the greatest composers of the XX century as well as considering specific features of the performance style dialogue of the composer-pianist, the methodology for the individual performance style of a pianist within the framework of hermeneutic discourse was developed.
