Yurchenko O. Researching of archaeological artifacts of Pereyaslav region: historiography (the XIXth c. - the beginning of the XXIst c.)

The thesis is devoted to the complex research of the problem of the presentation of the historical study of archaeological artifacts of Pereyaslav region in the XIXth c. - the beginning of the XXIst c. in the scientific literature. The author found a degree of scientific and theoretical study of the problem, the level and completeness of the source base. The paper analyzes the process of accumulation and systematization of information and the development of a goal-directed study of archaeological heritage of Pereyaslav region. On the basis of archival sources and publication the author revealed an unexplored initial stage of the beginning and the development of archaeological researches in the region. The activities of the scientific institutions of Kyiv, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Poltava, engaged in the study of archaeological artifacts of Pereyaslav region, their role in the study of these monuments is elucidated in the thesis. The author showed the contribution of outstanding representatives of Ukrainian and Russian archaeological sciences into the research of archaeological artifacts of Pereyaslav region and the place of these monuments in the history of archaeological sciences. Using concrete examples the author illustrated the contribution of a local scientific branch (Pereyaslav archaeological school) into the study and protection of archaeological monuments of different eras. It was determined the basic directions and stages in the development of the historiography of archaeological researches of Pereyaslav region in the XIXth c. - the beginning of the XXIst c. and analyzed their relationship with historical events of this period.
