Object of study: financial relations in the pension system. Objective: to study scientific and methodological positions and develop practical recommendations for improvement of private pension funds. Methods: scientific abstraction and econometric analysis, the dialectical approach, analytical and graphical formalization methods of comparison and analogy, statistical analysis and principles of historical and systematic approach, mathematical modeling. Results novelty: A methodological approach to determine the actual profitability of private pension funds. Improved analytical model of financial flows of private pension funds. Improved optimization criteria portfolio investment of pension funds. Got further development: an approach to evaluating the effectiveness of private pension funds operation methods; the distinction between "private pension provision" and "non-state pension insurance" and clarification of "non-state pension insurance"; typology of pension systems in the world due to the expansion of their classifications. Scope: development of private pension insurance in Ukraine.
