Essay

The theses is dedicated to the investigation of morphofunctional features of pancreas of domestic geese. It has been ascertained that active processes of morphogenesis take place in pancreas of goose fetus on the 27th day of incubation. The absolute (invariable) mass of the organ from the 1st day to 6 month age increases gradually and in the older geese it ranges from 7,13 to 8,58; the relative mass in the older geese also decreases and comprises 0,13 - 0,16 %. During the active period of pancreas growth the part of the organ under the capsule is different by the features of microscopic structure, it proves that this part is the place of acinus formation. The highest morphometric indices of pancreas - relative square of parenchyma, square of acinuses, cytoplasm of pancreatocytes were determined in geese at the age of 2 - 8 months. Endocrine system of pancreas in geese is formed by large light and small dark islets. Lymphoid tissue is the constant structure of pancreas. The highest relative content of parenchyma has middle compartments of dorsal and ventral parts, in which the square of acinuses is the smallest but the relative area of endocrine part is the largest one. Ultramicroscopic values of pancreatocytes prove the peculiarities of their functional state. Light cells have larger square of cytoplasm and nucleus and less diameter and relative square of zymogene granules. Great live weight of geese of Leghart breed correlates with great morphometric indices of the gland. It has been stated that the geese of Gorkovskaya breed have less relative square of light islets and lymphoid formations. The addition of feed additive "Humilid" stimulates the increase in the live weight of goslings, absolute and relative mass of pancreas, relative square of its exo- and endocrine parts and lymphoid tissue. The constant structure of the duct wall is acinuses the groups of which have a round form on the cross- section but they have long wide pillars on the longitudinal section.
