The thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of the axiological aspects of the creative heritage of Volodymyr Korolenko in historical and philosophical context. It describes peculiarities of the thinker's interpretation of basic value orientations in different philosophical and religious trends. The study shows the actuality of Korolenko's ideas at the present stage of development of Ukraine, his viewpoints on war preventing and peacemaking, coexistence of Ukrainian and Russian cultures, protection of persecuted Ukrainian spiritual and national identity and expediency of study thereof by contemporaries.
